Our Services - Piano Movements The human body was never designed to carry such heavy loads so in order for New Horizons to collect and deliver a piano it must go on a “Piano Skate.” A piano skate cannot be operated up more than one step and will definitely not go up a flight of stairs. The collection and delivery address access must be suitable for a piano skate to be able to move on a ground floor or to a level which can be accessed by a suitably weight rated lift which is already present at the property. Due to the delays and the messiness associated with part-loads (groupage/shared consignments) New Horizons only operate on a “dedicated trip basis.”
Export wrapping can be carried out at an extra charge, to protect new, antique or highly polished pianos. New Horizons can dismantle “baby” and “boudoir” grand pianos and place them into a "shoe" (a wooden crate used to put the piano skate under). New Horizons do not Move "Concert" Grand Pianos.
